3-29-2015 “BOUGHT WITH A PRICE : HIS OWN BLOOD!” Heb. 9:12

To prepare us for the Lord’s Supper, in today’s message Bro. Leo discusses the three spiritual laws that God established in the Garden of Eden concerning sin.  1)  the cost of sin is death, (Gen. 2:16-17  2) blood represents life and blood is required to pardon sin,  Lev. 17:11  3)  a death must occur to cover sin (Gen. 3:20-21).  Although  it is not specifically stated in Gen. 3:20-21 it is logical, since a lamb was used as a sacrifice for sin throughout the Old Testament and Jesus is called the Lamb of God,  that God slain two lambs and used their hides to clothe Adam and Eve.  A clue to this is in Gen. 3:24,  the Cherubims God placed at the east gate of the garden of Eden, which is the same as God did on the Ark of the Covenant to guard it in the Tabernacle.  Before the Priest could enter the inner court of the Tabernacle, where the Ark of the Covenant was,  they had to slay a lamb and offer it’s blood to God.

As we approach Resurrection Sunday and especially the Lord’s Supper, it is very critical that we meditate on our sins and the sacrifice that our Lord Jesus made to cover and pardon each and every sin we have ever committed or will ever commit.  As we remember what our Lord Jesus has done for us, allow it to rekindle our desire to obey and serve our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Scriptures used in today’s message:

1Co 11:24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
1Co 11:25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
1Co 11:26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.
1Co 11:27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
1Co 11:28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
1Co 11:29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.
1Co 11:30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
1Co 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

1Co 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
1Co 5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

1Pe 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Joh 19:35 And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
Joh 19:36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
Joh 19:37 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

1Pe 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
1Pe 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
1Pe 1:20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

1Co 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

Heb 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

3-22-2015 “HIS CROWN OF THORNS : OUR CURSE!” Mark 15:16-20

In today’s message Bro. Leo teaches the significance of the Crown of Thorns that was placed on Jesus’ head.   The thorns represent the curse that God put on all creation after the first sin was committed by Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden (Gen. 3).   Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross ended the curse by beginning the renewing of first our souls then our physical bodies and then all of creation.  In order to fully appreciate the sacrifice that Jesus offered for us we have to understand the curse and how Jesus’ sacrifice affected the curse.

We also added a Bible study on the Crown of Thorns for more understanding.

3-15-2015 “HIS BODY : 3 HOURS OF DARKNESS” Matt. 27:45-46

Today Bro. Leo started a Resurrection Sunday series by taking a Biblical look at exactly what happened to Jesus’ body on the cross and the significance of the experience to every Christian.   It is crucial to our personal relationship with Jesus that we understand exactly what Jesus experienced when He sacrificed Himself in our place.  The better we understand this experience the deeper our relationship with Him will become.

For more study we have added two Bible study’s to our Bible study page.

Scriptures used in today’s message:

3-8-2015 “HIS SPIRIT : WITHIN US, UPON US & AROUND US!” part 6 “EXPECT TO EXPERIENCE GOD HIMSELF” Acts 1:4-5

In today’s message Bro. Leo continues our study, of the presence of God, by giving the true Biblical definition of being a Christian, which is : 1) a person who believes God came to earth in human form  2) God was crucified on the cross for our sins  3) God arose from the dead in bodily form three days later  4) fourty days later God ascended to heaven and sent His Spirit back to live in us who believe forever.
Bro. Leo also discusses the differences between Christianity and Islam and why Islam can not mix with Christianity.

3-1-2015 “HIS SPIRIT : WITHIN US, UPON US & AROUND US!” part 5 “TO NEVER THIRST!” John 4:10, 14

In today’s message Bro. Leo continues our study, of the presence of God, by looking at the gift of God’s Holy Spirit to each one of us who is saved and how His Holy Spirit affects our life in Christ.  All men thirst for a relationship with Jesus (salvation) knowingly or not.  All saved men thirst for a deeper relationship with Jesus (life in Christ).  This thirst or desire can only be fulfilled by God, we cannot quench this thirst through worldly possessions of any kind.  The deeper our relationship with Jesus becomes the more blessings God will give us in this life as well as the more rewards He will give us in Heaven.

Scriptures used in today’s message:

Joh 4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
Joh 4:13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
Joh 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Joh 7:37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
Joh 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
Joh 7:39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
Rom 8:10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
