12-26-2021 “TO WORSHIP THE KING OF KINGS!” part 2, Matthew 2:1-2

This week Bro. Leo continues us on a study of true worship with worshipping the King of Kings part 2, a look at the wise men. Please listen to this audio file for all the great points Bro. Leo brings out.
Last week we studied how the Nation of Israel was looking for both an Earthly King and spiritual Saviour in the Messiah from what they had been taught through the Prophesies. But, the wise men were not from the nation of Israel, so how did they know about “he that is born King of the Jews?”
In Matt.2:1 the words “wise men” are translated from the Greek word “magos” which means from a Magian tribe. They were known for astrology, sorcery and as being Pagans, so how would they have known anything about “he that is born King of the Jews?”
1400 years before the birth of Christ the sorcerers knew “a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel” (Num.24:17 700 years before the birth of Christ they knew that the Messiah was going to be God, “whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting” (Matt.2:5, Mic.5:2). 600 years before the birth of Christ Nebuchadnezzar a “Magos” declared to Daniel “that your God is a God of gods” (Dan.2:1-4, 19-23, 46-48).
All those events took place so that the “wise men” could find Jesus at exactly the right time. Bro. Leo asks the question “What events has God orchestrated so you could find Jesus?” “How has God used your ancestors to bring you to Jesus?”

This is the Greuter Family cow bell. When my Grandpa gave me this bell he told me it came to this country with our ancestors from Germany. As we were doing this study today I couldn’t help but wonder if I would have known Jesus if my ancestors wouldn’t have made the journey to the new world. And what am I doing that will help lead my descendant’s to know Jesus.
Another thought that came to my mind during this study is how many people have been led to know Jesus from the Christmas holiday that we celebrate every year? For the last several years I’ve been noticing an uptick of ant-Christmas legalism on the internet, mostly from folks with a legalistic viewpoint saying Christmas comes from Pagan traditions and therefore should not be celebrated by Christians. This study clearly shows us that God can and does use all kinds of folks and events to draw us to come to know Jesus. There’s just no telling how many folks have come to know Jesus because of the Christmas celebration.

12-19-2021 “TO WORSHIP THE KING OF KINGS!” Matthew 2″1-3

This week Bro. Leo continues us on a study of true worship with worshipping the King of Kings. For the last few weeks we have studied TO WORSHIP THE LORD, TO WORSHIP GOD IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH, THE SERIOUSNESS OF TRUE WORSHIP, WORSHIP IS WORTH-SHIP, TO WORSHIP THE CREATOR, TO WORSHIP THE SON OF GOD and TO WORSHIP THE SAVIOUR OF ALL MANKIND. If you have missed any of those study’s, please scroll down and have a listen to them.
In Matt.2:13, 10-11and Luke 1:67-75 we see a combination of a physical Kingdom/King and a spiritual Kingdom/King all together as one. The Jewish people were looking for an Earthly King and if they would have received Him that is what would have happened. In Luke 1:74 the word “serve” is translated from the Greek word “latreuō” which means worshipful service, willingly and not out of compulsion. We worship God not out of obligation but because of who He is and what He has done for us. In Col.3:23 the word “heartily” is translated from the Greek word “haplotēs” which means in sincerity out of gratitude.
In Zech.14:1-4, 9, 16-17 we find a prophecy of the King of Kings ruling over all the Earth. This is what the Jewish folks were waiting for and expecting in Matt.2 and Luke 1, but since Jesus was rejected by His own people He will not rein on Earth until His 2nd. coming when He will rule with a rod of iron (Rev.19:11-16, Rev.17:14).
Scriptures used in today’s study:
Mat 2:1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

Mat 2:3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
Mat 2:10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
Mat 2:11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
Luk 1:67 And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,

Zec 14:3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
Zec 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
Zec 14:9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
Zec 14:16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Zec 14:17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.

Eph 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
Eph 1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

12-12-2021 “OUR GOOD NEWS”! Luke 2:8-14

This week David Sisk fills in for Bro. Leo who is out of town. David leads us on a study of rightly dividing the Word of God pertaining to the prophesies concerning the Messiah between the nation of Israel and the Gentiles.
Without rightly dividing the Word of God some folks have come up with the theology that Christians replaced the nation of Israel in the sight of God (Replacement Theology). Today’s study will reveal, through the Scriptures, some of the many flaws in that theology. David covers more ground in this study than I can adequately cover in this blog. So please listen to the audio file to learn the differences between the good news of the Messiah to the nation of Israel and the good news of the Messiah to the modern Gentile.

Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
12-5-2021 “TO WORSHIP THE SAVIOUR OF ALL MANKIND!” Luke 2″8-11

Last week we studied worshipping in truth by comparing the all inclusive “we all worship the same God” theology that is being spewed out by the communist one world government leaders to what the Word of God actually says. On a banner at the Islamic center of Nashville it says “there is only one God (Allah), he has no son”. If you look that phrase up on the internet you will find it is one of the foundational teachings of Islam. Contrary to the “all inclusive” crowd, the Bible teaches that Jesus is the Son of God, born of a virgin through a super natural conception (Luke 1:30-32, Mark 5:7). In Luke 1:30 an Angel testifies to Mary that Jesus will be the Son of God and in Mark 5:7 a fallen angel testifies that Jesus is in fact the Son of God. Jesus being the Son of God is the one fact that separates Christianity from all other religions. The only way for the “all inclusive” crowd to succeed is by removing Jesus as the Son of God, which contradicts the Scriptures and can in no way be worshipping God in spirit and in truth. The “all inclusive” crowd is conditioning folks for the one world government and the one world religion.
This week Bro. Leo leads us on a study of Jesus the Saviour of all mankind. In Luke 2:8-11 and Luke 1:76-77 we find two concepts about Jesus, 1) Earthly Saviour/King of Israel 2) Saviour of all mankind.
Scriptures used in today’s study:
Luk 2:8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
Luk 2:9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
Luk 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
Luk 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Luk 1:76 And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
Luk 1:77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,
Mat 1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Joh 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Rom 5:16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
Rom 5:17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
Rom 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
Rom 5:19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Rom 5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
Rom 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
Php 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
Luk 5:30 But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners?
Luk 5:31 And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.
Luk 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Act 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
Act 4:11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
the way?
Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
1Ti 1:12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;
1Ti 1:13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
1Ti 1:14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
1Ti 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
1Ti 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
1Ti 2:2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
1Ti 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
1Ti 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
1Ti 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Tit 3:4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
Tit 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Tit 3:6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
Tit 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
