1Pe 1:9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

2-12-2023 “EXERCISE THYSELF UNTO VICTORY!” 1 Timothy 4:7-8

This week Bro. Leo continues our study of the Holy Spirit and His role in our daily lives. Today we study about how the Bible says to grow spiritually mature in order to obtain all the spiritual victories in our daily lives.
In 1Tim.4:7 the word “exercise” is translated from the Greek word “gumnazō” which means a discipline, structure or regimen of training that accomplished endurance and resistance. Paul is telling us that it takes spiritual exercise to become spiritually mature enough to have the spiritual victories in our daily lives that God wants us to have. Another point Paul is making here is that individually we must spiritually exercise, nobody else can do it for us (“exercise thyself”). Paul tells us that spiritual maturity is how we accomplish acting “unto godliness”. The word “godliness” is translated from the Greek word “eusebeia” which means overall spritual godliness that is reflected in our daily lives.
In Phil.3:12-14 and 1Tim.6:11-12 Paul explains that spiritual maturity is not accomplished at the point of salvation, it must be pursued diligently by each individual Christian. Attending Church every Sunday and reading the Bible everyday is the means to the end, not the end. Church attendance, studying the Bible and prayer time is the exercises needed to mature us spiritually, they are not the maturity. In 1Cor.9:24-25 the word “obtain” is translated from the Greek word “katalambanō” which means to secure, posses with the attitude of eagerness or desire.
A Christians’ joyfulness and daily victories are solely dependent upon our consistent spiritual exercise and diet (John 15:11, John 16:24, 1Cor.9:24-26, Rom.8:37). The joyfulness and victories all come from God (Psa.18:29, 37).
Scriptures used in today’s study:
1Ti 4:7 But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
1Ti 4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
Php 3:12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Php 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
Php 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
1Ti 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
1Ti 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
1Co 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
1Co 9:25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
1Co 9:26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
Joh 15:11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
Joh 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Psa 18:29 For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.
Psa 18:37 I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed.
1Ti 4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
2-5-2023 “THE BREAD OF LIFE!” John 6:25-27

This week Bro. Leo continues our study of the Holy Spirit and His role in our daily lives. Today’s study is an introduction to the Bread of life sub series.
This week Bro. Leo introduces the comparison of the Bread of life sustaining/nourishing physically to the indwelling Holy Spirit of the believer sustaining/nourishing us spiritually when we seek the nourishment. Leo lays the foundation for this comparison very well and I’m not going to try to give an accurate synopsis, so please take the time to listen to the audio file to hear the entire study.
Scriptures used in today’s study:
Joh 6:25 And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?
Joh 6:26 Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.
Joh 6:27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
1Pe 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
Heb 5:11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.
Heb 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
Heb 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
Heb 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Rev 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Rev 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Rev 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
1Co 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
1Co 3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
1Co 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
1Co 2:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
1Co 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
1Co 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
1Co 2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
1Co 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
1Co 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Eph 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
Eph 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Eph 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
Eph 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
Eph 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
Eph 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
Joh 6:27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
Joh 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
1Ti 4:7 …………, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
1Ti 4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
1Ti 4:9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.
1Ti 4:10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

1-22-2023 “WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST!” Ephesians 4:1

This week David Sisk fills in for Bro. Leo, who is out of town. David leads us on a great Biblical study of how to walk worthy of our position in Christ.
The first three chapters of Ephesians explain who we are in Christ. The last three chapters of Ephesians explain our responsibilities as Christians.
Eph.1:3 explains that the spiritual blessings are available to every Christian. Verses 4-7, 9, 14 and 13 define those blessings.
2Tim.1:9 tells us that our position in Christ is not dependent upon our performance/works, but is the product of our faith in the work of Christ in us.
Praying Eph.3:20 is how we walk worthy of our position in Christ.
Scriptures used in today’s study:
Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Eph 1:14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
2Ti 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Eph 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

Eph 3:5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

1-8-2023 “THE LIFE OF CHRIST IN US!” Galatians 2:20

This week Bro. Leo starts us on a study of Holy Spirit and His role in our daily lives.
In Gal.2:20 and Phil.2:13 we find these two principles, 1) The Spirit of Jesus Christ is alive and indwelling the believers, 2) The Spirit of Jesus Christ should be active in the lives of the believers.
1Cor.3:16 tells us that we/believers are the Temple of God and He dwells in us. The Old Testament Temple consisted of an outer court (our body), the Holy place (our souls) and the Holy of Holy’s (our spirit). 1Cor.6:17 tells us that the Holy Spirit and our spirit become one.
We should be experiencing the life of Christ in us every day (1Pet.1:3, 1Pet.2:5, 2Cor.4:8-10).
Scriptures used in today’s study:
Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Php 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
1Co 6:15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
1Co 6:13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
1Co 6:17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
1Co 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
Col 1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
Col 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Joh 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
Joh 14:20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
Joh 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Joh 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Joh 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
Joh 20:19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
Joh 20:20 And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.
Joh 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
Joh 20:22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Eph 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
Rom 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Rom 6:10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
Rom 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
1Pe 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
1Pe 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
2Co 4:8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
2Co 4:9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
2Co 4:10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
1-1-2023 “LIVING IN THE CERTAINTY OF GOD!” Joshua 3:3-4

This week Bro. Leo leads us on a study of knowing the certainty of God’s plan for our lives.
In order to realize God’s plan for our lives we must follow/allow Him to lead us (Josh.3:3-4, James 4:13-15, Jer. 29:11, Luke 12:16-21, Josh.1:7-9, Psa.1:1-3, 6).
We allow God to lead us because we fully trust Him and His plan (2Tim.1:12). In 2Tim.1:12 the word “committed” is translated from the Greek word “parathēkē” which means to place something in a trust, make a deposit somewhere for safe keeping.
Scriptures used in today’s study:
Jos 3:3 And they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it.
Jos 3:4 Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore.
Jas 4:13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
Jas 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
Jas 4:15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
Jer 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Luk 12:16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
Luk 12:17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
Luk 12:18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
Luk 12:19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
Luk 12:20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
Luk 12:21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
Jos 1:7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
Jos 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Jos 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Psa 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
Psa 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Psa 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Psa 1:6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
2Ti 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
Psa 27:13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Psa 27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
12-25-2022 “IMMANUEAL” Isaiah 7:14

We don not have a recorded study for today. Bro. Leo covered a few Scriptures concerning the birth of the Messiah and the importance of His name. Here is an excerpt from “The Book of Mysteries” by Jonathan Cahn that explains the true meaning of Christmas:
Day 75 EEM-ANU-EL
“I’m going to teach you how to speak Hebrew,” said the teacher, “or at least one sentence.”
“I’m ready.”
“The Hebrew word for “with” is eem. And the word for “us” is anu.”
“Eem…anu,” I said.
“And the word for “God” is El.”
“El.”
“So how would you say ‘With us is God’?” he asked.
“Eem…anu…El.”
“Say it again.”
“Eem…anu…El. Eem anu El…Immanuel!”
“Yes, Immanuel. So Isaiah prophesied of Messiah, ‘A virgin shall conceive and give birth to a child and shall call Him Immanuel.”
“The name of Messiah.”
“And more than a name. In Hebrew, it’s a sentence. It’s a declaration, a reality. It’s the reality of Messaih. His very life on earth was this Hebrew sentence, a declaration in Hebrew—eem anu El.”
“How was His life a sentence?” I asked.
“When He was sorroful. Who was it who wasa sorrowful?”
“Immanuel.”
“It was Immanuel in sorrow,” said the teacher, “Eem anu El in sorrow. It forms a sentence: ‘God is with us in sorrow.’ And when He was in the boat on the Sea of Galilee in the midst of the storm, it was Immanuel in the storm. Eem anu El in the storm. It forms a sentence: ‘God is with us in the storm.’ And when He was despised and rejected of men, it was eem anu El in rejection.”
“God is with us in rejection,” I replied.
“When He hung on the cross in judgement, it was eem anu El in judgement.”
“God is with us in judgemnent.”
“And when He ascended to heaven, where He is, it was eem anu El forever.”
“God is with us forever.”
“Immanuel came into the world and to every circumstance of life, so that we could say, ‘At all times, in all places, in every circumstance…eem anu El, God is with us…always.”
The mission: Today, practice the Hebrew word of His name. In every circumstance speak and fathom the reality of eem anu El-God is with you, always.
