If you don’t understand why God hasn’t answered every one of your prayers then you will want to listen to this message. Bro. Leo explains the Biblical reasons why God answers some prayers and doesn’t answer others in this message.
This week Bro. Leo continues our study of faith with a look at the faith that expects God to answer prayer. In order to expect, without a doubt, that God will answer our prayer we must first know exactly how and why God wants us to pray.
The most important reason for our prayer/request should be that God will be glorified through the granting of our request so that others will be drawn to and glorify God also (John 14:13, Luke 18:41-43, Psa. 40:2-3). God will not answer selfish prayers/request (James 4:3).
Our prayer/request must be simple, concise, direct and specific (Luke 18:41). We must be praying for/requesting good things in Jesus name (Matt.7:11, John 14:14). Praying for “good things in Jesus name” equates to praying in and of God’s will.
We should begin praying by asking, seeking and knocking (Matt.7:7). We ask by making an honest request. We seek for God’s wisdom in our request. We knock with the passion of heart caused by knowing God’s will (Phil. 4:6-7). The result will be God opening the door for us to praise Him (Psa. 50:15), which will cause those around us to praise Him (Luke 18:43).
