This week Bro. Leo continues our study of faith and prayer with a question that is asked several times in the New Testament, What shall we do?

The answer is several things and they are all pro-active.
1) Establish a foundation, believe in Jesus and God who sent Him (John 6:28-29).

2) Build upon this foundation by living it daily, staying in the faith and fighting for the faith (2Tim. 4:6-7).  In 2Peter 1:5 we are told to add virtue to our faith. Webster dictionary 1828 edition defines virtue as Moral goodness; the practice of moral duties and the abstaining from vice, or a conformity of life and conversation to the moral law.  VIRTUE is nothing but voluntary obedience to truth.
In 1Cor.3:9 we are called “labourers together with God” meaning we are required to perform actions/work along with God.

These scriptures and several more instruct us to be pro-active in our faith.  In order to be truly pro-active we need more than our own strength and power.  Eph. 6:10-18 instructs us how to obtain the strength and power of God that will enable us to be pro-active in our faith.

2Pe 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
2Pe 1:8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2Pe 1:9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

1Co 3:9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
1Co 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
1Co 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1Co 3:12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble

1Jn 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Jn 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Gal 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

2Co 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Rom 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Rom 13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
