This week Bro. Leo continues us on a study of God’s promise of Rom 8:28 by looking at what God’s providence is.
Last week we learned the promise of Rom. 8:28 is conditional, 1) only applies to the child of God, 2) and who is actively involved in their loving relationship with God, 3) and who is actively pursuing to be conformed into the image of His Son. What is God’s purpose for our lives (Rom.8:28)? God’s purpose for our lives is that we get renewed into His image (1John 3:203 Phil. 3:20-21). John 14:15, John 15:9-10, 12-13, 17, John13:34-35 tells us how to actively pursue to be conformed into God’s image.
“His purpose” = God’s providence, which means by which God directs all events in the universe toward the accomplishment of His purposes and plan by the movement of His omnipotent unseen hand. God has a plan and God is in control!
God’s providence works on two levels, 1) grand scale of the worlds history, 2) in the smallest most intimate details of our lives.
Examples of grand scales (Psa. 75:4-5, Dan. 2:19, 22, Isa. 46:9-11, Acts 5:38-39).
Examples of most intimate details (Matt. 10:30, 29-31, Psa. 139:1-6, 17-18).
Examples of both intimate details and grand scale (Gen.37:12-27, Gen. 45:3-8).
God has a plan for each of us and we should make our plans to agree with God’s plan (James 4:13-15).
