During this coronavirus crisis Christians need to respond the same way we respond to any of life’s circumstances, we search the Scriptures to find out how God tells us to respond.
In Psa.11:1 David expresses how his first response to his crisis is him wanting to run and hide from what he fears. David’s response is often times our initial response to a crisis, but in 2Tim.1:7 we are told that the spirit of fear is not from God. A “sound mind” (2Tim.1:7) is not to fear, want to run and hide. A “sound mind” is to say I will put my trust in the Lord. In Psa.11 David is struggling between fear and trusting God.
During any crisis we need to remember that our Creator God is still on the throne and in control (Psa.11:4). 1) God is on the throne 2) God is in control 3) everything in the world is created by God 4) God is our creator and sustainer (Col.1:15-17).
The coronavirus should be a wakeup call to nations and individuals to trust God, acknowledge God, seek God and examine ourselves and repent (2Chro.7:11-14, Pro.3:5-8).
Just like David in Psa.11 we can depend on ourselves and our Government with fear of the outcome or we can put our trust in the Lord our Creator God (Psa.46:1-3, 7, 10-11).
