12-20-2020 “THE GLORY OF THE LORD!” part1 Luke 2:8-14

This week Bro. Leo continues on a Christmas series study by looking what the Bible says “the Glory of the Lord” is. Today’s study is an introductory study, we will digging much deeper into the Biblical definition of “the Glory of the Lord” in next few weeks.

In Luke 2:9 the word “glory” is translated from the Greek word “doxa” which means appearance of a person by both the physical and inner qualities that cause attention and recognition. So, in the context of vs.9 “doxa” would be God’s splendor, brilliance, light and His righteousness and Holiness.

God’s brilliant light draws our attention to Him and His light allows us to understand spiritual things (John 3:19-21, 1John 1:5, John 8:12, John 9:5, John 1:6-9).

The birth of Jesus was a new dawn (Mal.4:2, Luke 1:78-79, Rev.22:16). Salvation comes to us by hearing the Word of God, His Holy Spirit shining the light of understanding in our hearts and we accepting (2Cor.4:3-6, 2Pet.1:19-21, Luke 2:8-16.
