PRAYER REQUESTS

As we start each day, let us be ever mindful of the needs of others, thru prayer, as well as us and our families.

Matthew 7:7 (KJV)  “Ask, and it shall be given to you; see, and ye shall find, knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”

Luke 11:9-10 (KJV) “And I say unto you, Asl, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. “For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to hime that knocketh it  shall be opened.”

ADDICTION  (No names required)

Watching someone you love in the throes of an addiction can be devastating.  It doesn’t just affect that person, it affects everyone. It affects how we come together as family, it affects our co-workers and it affects our children.  We are all on this painful journey with them.  But we are not by standers.  The Bible says in Philippians 4:6, “Don’t’worry about anything; instead pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”

If you are feeling pain and anguish because someone you love is struggling with an addiction, whether it is alcohol, drugs, pornography or something else, you don’t have to stand by and watch your loved one suffer.  Your are not powerless in this situation, because God wants you to come to him with the struggles that cause you pain.  Here are three Bible verses you can pray for all those battling an addiction.

Pray for the brokenness and emptiness.

Psalm 147:3 (KJV) “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wonds.”

Pray for freedom and deliverance.

John 8:36 (KJV) “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

Pray for restoration.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)  “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

LOST SOULS, PEOPLE WHO DO NOT KNOW JESUS

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life”

Matthew 25: 31-46 (please read)

Pray for Precious Lost Souls Today, and Everyday!  This a fairy tale people, this part of life is real.

HEALTH NEEDS:

“And Jesus went about all cities and villages; teaching, preaching and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.”  Matthew 9:35

Those battling cancer, taking treatments, etc.

LOSS OF LOVED ONES:

Revelation 14:13:  Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.”

Psalm 116:14:  I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14: Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

John 11:25-26:  Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

1 Corinthians 15:42-44: So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

Isaiah 57:1-2:  The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. 2 Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death.

2 Corinthians 4:17-18:  For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

2 Corinthians 5:8: We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

Revelation 12:11: They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

John 14:1-2Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?

Revelation 21:4 : He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

1 John 3:2:  Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is

Romans 14:8:  If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 4:17-18:  After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

Ecclesiastes 7:1:  A good name is better than fine perfume, and the day of death better than the day of birth.

Psalm 48:14: For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.

Philippians 2:20: I have no one else like him, who will show genuine concern for your welfare.

  3. Please pray for my family. We have had many deaths this past year. Along with me having a bad fall that has left me pain and issues limiting my ability to work full time. Bro. Leo was our pastor at Jedburg Baptist as well as our neighbor. I was awoken the other night with him on my mind. So I found this site and listen to a few of his sermons. I was able to go back to sleep peacefully that night. I pray you continue to post them.

    1. Tom, We will be praying for your continued healing and for your family during this season of grief and adjusting. May God comfort you and give you a peace that passes understanding. Remember that He will never leave or forsake you.
