This week Bro. Leo continues us on our study of “The Jesus you never knew” that we started in January 2020.
In John 3:1-10 we find a few specifics with Nicodemus meeting with Jesus that hold true when we meet with Jesus, 1) it’s a one on one meeting between an individual and Jesus, 2) Jesus knew the heart of Nicodemus, 3) Jesus knew the spiritual condition of Nicodemus, 4) Jesus spoke the truth to Nicodemus about himself.
Nicodemus was a Jewish religious leader who believed he had worked his way into salvation. Jesus knew how Nicodemus felt about his salvation and that’s why Jesus replied to his question with “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God”.
We don’t meet with Jesus in His physical form, we meet with His Holy Spirit (John 16:7). Jesus speaks to us through His Holy Spirit (John 14:25-26, John 16:13).
When we seek Jesus He knows what our motives are for seeking Him (John 3:2-3, John 2:23, John 6:25-27, John 1:45-49, Matt.12:22-25, Matt.22:15-18, Mark 2:4-9, Luke 6:6-11, Luke 16:13-15, Heb.4:12-13).
So we need to meet with Jesus as we truly are and allow Him/Holy Spirit to convict and correct us (Psa.51:6,17, Psa.142:1-5, Psa.139:1-6, Acts 15:5-9, Gal.4:6, John 3:1, Psa.139:1-2, 23-24).
